Simply the Best Tips & Tricks for Everyday Life
One of the first most annoying thing about the iPod/iTune is that with albums (i.e. compilations) that contain multiple artists, your iPod/iTune displays it multiple times (i.e. one per artist as if there are more than one albums). What you really want is for these compilations to be displayed once and labeled “Various Artists”. We had this annoying problem too and we’re going to tell you how to solve this.
The secret lies in the compilation functionality of iTune. The purpose of the “Part of a Compilation” checkbox in your track information in iTunes is to flag a given track as belonging to a “compilation” album rather than a traditional album. This is normally used for albums that contain multiple artists, and can also be used for albums with “featured” artists. Tracks marked as “Part of a Compilation” can be grouped separately and omitted from the normal artist listings.
1. To do this, firstly the tracks themselves must be marked as “Part of a compilation”. You can do this by selecting multiple tracks, and right click the “Get Info” option.
2.Now go tot the “Options” tab and check the “Part of a Compilation” box. Choose “Yes” in the drop down.
3. Now you’re almost done. One of the hidden secret is that there is a 3rd step critical to this process. You will need to also ensure:
As a result, you should check both of these boxes and ensure the information are correct.
Finally click “OK” to apply the changes. Now sync your iPod and you will see that any albums that you have applied this trick will be shown only ONCE, whether you’re viewing the music by Album or by Cover Flow.
There’s alot of bashing on the Apple iPad. While I am neither an advocate or a basher myself, I just want to provide some perspective here on what’s behind “Steve Jobs” mind when he said the iPad was his most important work for years. To the critics, “So who’s buying the iPad?” And in addition, let’s also look at some previous comments about the iPhone launch. The Apple iPhone had became a phenomenal success, hasn’t it?
Let’s continue, shall we? Read the rest of this entry »
I recently installed Windows 7 and had gotten a blue screen, not the blue screen of death but just a blue screen like the following. The system stayed that way and the DVD Rom seems to be silent. It looks as though Windows 7 is stuck somehow. I researched online and some folks claimed this to be a problem with the DVD, the version of Windows 7 (i.e. not being legit) but mine definitely was, or had motherboard problems. All of these weren’t the real reason. To solve it, here’s what you do…
Michael Jackson This is It movie is out. Four months after the King of Pop died, there’s a movie to remember him by.
My Canon DSLR shutter stopped working and instead of spending hundreds of dollars to fix it, I decided to trade it in for a new Canon 50D. This is called the Canon Loyalty Program. How it works is this. If your Canon camera has any problem what-so-ever, normally you could send it in for repair. If you’re out of warranty Canon could give you a quote. But here’s a new option from now to the end of 2009. You can decide to pay a cheap price for one of the latest Canon Camera model and send in your old camera. You can do this even if it’s a very small problem or in some case, I think you can report a problem that doesn’t exist because they won’t need to have your camera on their hands before you can make this decision.

Let’s see how it works and the bargain you are paying.
Digital SLR options, trade in any Canon DSLR (e.g. old Rebel 300D, XTi, 20D, 30D etc) and pay the following price (tax not included below) for the following options:
Canon XS, $359
Canon 50D Body Only, $629
Canon 50D with 28-135 Lens, $759
There’re also other options for other cameras if you don’t own a DSLR:
S10, S30, S40, S45, S50, S60, S70 (SX110 SI was not offered), S100, S200, S230, S300, S330, S400, S410, S500, SD100, SD110, SD200, SD400, SD550, SD600, SD630, SD700-IS, SD800-IS, SD870-IS, SD1000, S1-IS, S2-IS, G2, G5 trade for:
SX110 IS (upd 7/16/2009) – $130 (upd 8/18/2009, 125 to 130)
SD890 IS (upd 7/16/2009) – $150
SX10 IS (upd 7/16/2009) – $200
Rebel XTI with 18-55 mm lens (upd 7/23/2009) – $350

FACEBOOK is blocking all your friends in its recent release so what that means is that your Facebook feed will be limited EXCEPT for the 250 they choose. You may not have that many friends but even if you don’t you should still unblock it for your sake. If you do, this is an annoyance because you could be missing out very important information of your friends. It’s OK to undo the block, we’re gonna show you how. So here’s what you do.
1. Go to your home page by clicking on your name on the top right hand corner e.g. ‘Daniel Poon’.

2. Click on the LIVE FEED button.

Loved the new ads from Microsoft which features Kylie, a cute Asian girl. She’s adorable and if she doesn’t convince you buying Windows 7, at least she might prevent you from buying an Apple with the fat computer geek saying “I’m a PC”. From reading some of the comments, some one said “I hope the OS makes me as happy as the commercial did. I can’t stop smiling
”, we hope so too. Microsoft seems to have turned the corner and strike back with Windows Live, a new search engine Bing, and a new Operating System Windows 7
And yes, we have 3 ads featuring Kylie today for your viewing pleasure…
Oh we have more of Kylie…let’s see…How about this one?

Back in 2008, T-Mobile lost the WIFI deal with Starbucks and overnight every Starbucks has AT&T WIFI on it. For T-Mobile customers, they almost freaked out thinking they no longer have access to WIFI in Starbucks. T-Mobile clarified that the roaming agreement would still be in place for a few years. But if you ever go into a Starbucks, they really made it tough to connect because there’s no help or icons made available. Anyhow this post is to help T-Mobile customers who wants to connect to Starbucks AT&T WIFI successfully.
Follow these steps!!!
There seems to be a viral outage at Yahoo! which is a public company that conducts their event (i.e. a Hack Day apparently) with Go-Go girls. The dis-respect for females were apparent. But to add to that is how Yahoo! covered it up as much as they can by shutting down a number of photos or videos posted to their sites. We think this is Lifehacking at its lowest (to generate buzz) even though they had apologized somewhat. This is definitely a brand disaster for the company. Moral of this hack: use common sense.
Here’s a real Facebook post. Someone gets fired for bitching about their job. Well the firing could have been avoided had he not add his boss to his Facebook friends. Lesson learmt here?
