Simply the Best Tips & Tricks for Everyday Life
The closing ceremony can be watched live on YouTube. It’s already available as we speak, hours ahead of your television set. But you need to know how to get to watch it.
Let’s read on the details…
Well it’s easy, here’s what you need to do.
1. Check out the CCTV International Rights Holder Page. Here you’ll note the countries that YouTube has the rights to broadcast to.
2. You’ll need a proxy from http://www.xroxy.com/proxylist.htm . Choose a country that YouTube is the primary broadcaster. You may wish to try a proxy from Malaysia like we did. Note: Pick a proxy with lowest latency and highest reliability would ensure best experience.
2. Note down the IP address and Port on a piece of paper now.
3. Start Internet Explorer (Note: Firefox won’t work). Change your browser’s proxy setting. On IE 6, click Tools | Internet Options. Click on the Connections tab and then click the LAN Settings button. In the proxy server section, check the “User a proxy server for your LAN“. Enter the Address 219.93.175.67 (this is the IP address we picked) and Port 3128 (this is the port number we picked). Click OK twice.
4. Now visit the YouTube Beijing Olympic website: http://www.youtube.com/beijing2008
