I came across a thought of finding out about the evolution of computers. Computers, had been part of the furniture for decades. The young Steve Jobs who founded Apple is now in his middle-age. So what are the specs of computers like back in the days? And I dug this very interesting story that read “Larger Computer Ordered by Bank”. Yep, surely the banks need alot of computing power, right? “Today, we’re launching an initiative to make more old newspapers accessible and searchable online by partnering with newspaper publishers to digitize millions of pages of news archives. This effort expands on the contributions of others who’ve already begun digitizing historical newspapers. In 2006, we started working with publications like the New York Times and the Washington Post to index existing digital archives and make them searchable …”.

Google has announced that they’re continuing to digitize more newspapers from the archives. What that means is that you now have the ability to go back in time. Why is this important Maybe it’s a story that you want to find out more about “the Titanics???”, maybe you wanna check out all the news items of your birthday? Wither way, you can have lots of fun learning about the past, and not the ancient past, just a few decades ago perhaps.

2. Enter a key word to search.

3. Once the results come back, remember to click on the bottom left corner on under the “Archive” section and home into the items back in the 1950, 1960, 1970, 1980, 1990 and 2000…
