Back in 2008, T-Mobile lost the WIFI deal with Starbucks and overnight every Starbucks has AT&T WIFI on it. For T-Mobile customers, they almost freaked out thinking they no longer have access to WIFI in Starbucks. T-Mobile clarified that the roaming agreement would still be in place for a few years. But if you ever go into a Starbucks, they really made it tough to connect because there’s no help or icons made available. Anyhow this post is to help T-Mobile customers who wants to connect to Starbucks AT&T WIFI successfully.

Follow these steps!!!

T-Mobile connecting AT&T WIFI in Starbucks
When you first connect your laptop to Starbucks AT&T WIFI, you will get the Starbucks homepage. At the top, you can see if you are an AT&T customer, you can connect very easily. But if you are not, you don’t see any help, icons, or search topics that will give you any hints to help. And I even went to the length of searching through old links and tried http://hotspot.t-mobile.com where the laptop would tried to connect but failed. A few times I would give up simply because I thought the T-Mobile connection is down. But that’s really not the case.

THE TRICK HERE IS THIS: You need to type in a bogus login and password at the top and click the “Connect to the Internet” button !!!!

When you do, out comes an other login page. You can now see a number of connection options. The one we’re interested in is the link called “Roaming Options” on the left. GO click that please…

And on to the next screen you can see the roaming options “T-Mobile”, “Boingo” etc. Select “T-Mobile”.
