I recently installed Windows 7 and had gotten a blue screen, not the blue screen of death but just a blue screen like the following. The system stayed that way and the DVD Rom seems to be silent. It looks as though Windows 7 is stuck somehow. I researched online and some folks claimed this to be a problem with the DVD, the version of Windows 7 (i.e. not being legit) but mine definitely was, or had motherboard problems. All of these weren’t the real reason. To solve it, here’s what you do…

All you have to do is WAIT WAIT WAIT. The silly thing is Windows 7 doesn’t tell you to “Please Wait…” but instead it shows a mouse pointer. If you’re patient for 5 minutes, then you will see a dialog about the installation, asking for installation language etc. This is definitely a Windows 7 annoyance (almost close to being a Windows 7 bug) but we’ll leave this to the jury.

For now, just wait and eventually it will work itself out. I am posting this cos I know plenty of people saw this issue and went to reboot their system or lost with words. Now you know what to do!!!
