Apple iPad – Who’s Buying One?

Feb 8, 2010 Author: Daniel | Filed under: Apple, Technology

There’s alot of bashing on the Apple iPad. While I am neither an advocate or a basher myself, I just want to provide some perspective here on what’s behind “Steve Jobs” mind when he said the iPad was his most important work for years. To the critics, “So who’s buying the iPad?” And in addition, let’s also look at some previous comments about the iPhone launch. The Apple iPhone had became a phenomenal success, hasn’t it?

Canon Loyalty Program – old camera trade-in for new

Nov 2, 2009 Author: Daniel | Filed under: Bargain, Technology

My Canon DSLR shutter stopped working and instead of spending hundreds of dollars to fix it, I decided to trade it in for a new Canon 50D. This is called the Canon Loyalty Program. How it works is this. If your Canon camera has any problem what-so-ever, normally you could send it in for repair. If you’re out of warranty Canon could give you a quote. But here’s a new option from now to the end of 2009. You can decide to pay a cheap price for one of the latest Canon Camera model and send in your old camera. You can do this even if it’s a very small problem or in some case, I think you can report a problem that doesn’t exist because they won’t need to have your camera on their hands before you can make this decision.

Let’s see how it works and the bargain you are paying.

Digital SLR options, trade in any Canon DSLR (e.g. old Rebel 300D, XTi, 20D, 30D etc) and pay the following price (tax not included below) for the following options:

Canon XS, $359
Canon 50D Body Only, $629
Canon 50D with 28-135 Lens, $759

There’re also other options for other cameras if you don’t own a DSLR:

S10, S30, S40, S45, S50, S60, S70 (SX110 SI was not offered), S100, S200, S230, S300, S330, S400, S410, S500, SD100, SD110, SD200, SD400, SD550, SD600, SD630, SD700-IS, SD800-IS, SD870-IS, SD1000, S1-IS, S2-IS, G2, G5 trade for:

Back in 2008, T-Mobile lost the WIFI deal with Starbucks and overnight every Starbucks has AT&T WIFI on it. For T-Mobile customers, they almost freaked out thinking they no longer have access to WIFI in Starbucks. T-Mobile clarified that the roaming agreement would still be in place for a few years. But if you ever go into a Starbucks, they really made it tough to connect because there’s no help or icons made available. Anyhow this post is to help T-Mobile customers who wants to connect to Starbucks AT&T WIFI successfully.

Follow these steps!!!

Yahoo Hires Lap Dancers For Hack Day

Oct 20, 2009 Author: Daniel | Filed under: Social Media, Technology

There seems to be a viral outage at Yahoo! which is a public company that conducts their event (i.e. a Hack Day apparently) with Go-Go girls. The dis-respect for females were apparent. But to add to that is how Yahoo! covered it up as much as they can by shutting down a number of photos or videos posted to their sites. We think this is Lifehacking at its lowest (to generate buzz) even though they had apologized somewhat. This is definitely a brand disaster for the company. Moral of this hack: use common sense.

What you should consider before upgrading to iPhone 3GS?

Jun 9, 2009 Author: Daniel | Filed under: Technology

Apple has launched the new iPhone 3GS (S for speed) and users in the United States maybe thinking like I am, “Should I upgrade or not?” If you are one of the 6 million owners of 1st generation iPhone, the new iPhone is a big enough improvement that you’ll probably want to get one as soon as you become qualified for the subsidized price. If you are one of the 15 million who bought an iPhone 3G in 2008, the decision process is a little more complicated. The new iPhone is better than the one you own — faster, longer battery life, built-in compass, better camera that can shoot video — is it $400 better? Here’s four very important points for you to consider!!! Click and read on…
